After all, who else would drive you to LA just because you miss your mom…

R U S H RUSH, a term used by Greek organizations, is the
period in which we use to recruit new potential members
to our sorority. All activities held during our RUSH is
dedicated for YOU to get better acquainted with the
sisters as well as learn what our organization is all about.
Please keep in mind that there is no obligation to rushing.
So feel free to have fun and to ask us any questions.
That’s what we are here for.
I N T E R V I E W This is the time where we get the opportunity to ask you
questions to get better acquainted with YOU. This will also
determine whether or not you will receive a BID, which is
an invitation to pledge for our sorority. Once again, there
is no obligation when you interview for us.
B I D This is the formal invitation in which you will receive, once
voted upon by the house. This is where you will decide whether
or not you want to officially pledge for Sigma Omicron Pi.
P L E D G E A PLEDGE is a person going through our pledge period to
become a sister of Sigma Omicron Pi. But don’t worry! You will
not be alone. Your Pledge Sisters, Pledge Mom, and Big Sis will
accompany you. They will help you as you go through this process.
H A Z I N G Sigma Omicron Pi does not promote hazing as act in which an
individual is forced to do something demeaning or distasteful.
Everything we do has a purpose that will teach you what sisterhood
is all about. We would not hurt a Potential Sister.
S I S T E R We pride ourselves in the sisterhood we established here at UC
Santa Cruz. To be considered a sister, you must successfully
complete our pledge period, which tends to be 8-10 weeks long.
Through these weeks, you will learn the true meaning of SISTERHOOD
and what it takes to be a SISTER. Through love and dedication, you
will earn the right to become a member of Sigma Omicron Pi.
